What is Too Hot to Be Cool?
Too Hot to Be Cool (THTBC) is a volunteer-run rock event series in Tokyo. We put bands on stage, and every yen from ticket sales goes to youth-led non-profit organizations fighting for climate justice in Southeast Asia.
Since April 2024, we’re turning Tokyo’s independent rock scene into a small but growing force for climate action, one show at a time, three times a year.
How does it work?

We put on a show with local rock bands in Tokyo. Three times a year, all volunteer performers.

After paying the venue fee, every yen from tickets goes to a youth-led climate NPO.
Our achievements so far

Fighting for climate justice and environmental protection in Southeast Asia, these are the nonprofits we’ve supported so far.
Since our second edition, Too Hot to Be Cool focuses on supporting youth-led nonprofits in Southeast Asia, a region already facing severe climate impacts despite contributing far less to global emissions.
By raising funds in Tokyo and sending them to the region, we help strengthen youth climate movements and initiatives where resources are limited but the challenges are already immense.
Kids for Kids mobilizes and inspires children and young Filipinos to drive climate action, from urban centers to the most remote islands.
